Yes, the dash cam can record until its battery runs out, which will vary depending on how long your vehicle continues to deliver power after being turned off and degree to which battery was charged.  If you wish to monitor for extended periods of time while vehicle is parked, then hard-wiring to a power source such as car battery would be recommended; however professional installation is recommended in this case.
